Yes, electrolysis safely and permanently removes hair from all skin tones and can remove dark, light and gray hair.
Electrolysis is a process. More than one treatment is necessary. There is regrowth of some hairs. You should expect those to come back thinner and thinner, eventually not at all.
If you are using any temporary methods such as tweezing , waxing or shaving it is important to wait at least 3 to 4 weeks to be sure all hairs are showing so we know how much hair we are starting with. This is very important for success of treatments. Hairs can be clipped during this time to avoid hair showing!
The amount of sessions needed vary from client to client. It depends on how much hair there is, temporary methods used, and certain medical conditions.
There are three cycles of hair growth. Anagen, catagen and telogen.Hair has to be in the growing (active) stage for epilation to be effective. Anagen is the growth cycle of hair. This is where electrolysis is extremely effective . About 35% of hairs are in this stage at time of treatment. Catagen is when hair are in shedding stage and getting ready for regrowth. Fortunately, this is a very short period as new hairs.( telogen) are usually ready to emerge. Telogen, as stated above, growth stage and shedding hairs are replaced. Bulb is not completely formed yet. It is really important to understand stages of hair growth . Thats why electrolysis is a process and sessions are on a timely basis. How often vary from client to client. Most important is getting regrowth as soon as it appears, since hair is at its weakest form at that time.
Treatments are in 15 and 30 minute increments. Approximately 50 to 100 hairs removed each session.
At Electrolysis by Debra, enjoy air flow comfort during treatments. Cool air blows during hair removal, causing minimal to no discomfort.
Depending on your skins sensitivity and strength of hairs to remove, you may experience slight reddening after treatment which dissipates in a few hours. Sometimes ice is applied to area immediately after treatment to cool and refresh skin. Air flow comfort helps to avoid post treatment redness.

Debra specializes in sensitive and hard to cure faces. Practice is mostly limited to facial hair and other small areas.
I hear this all the time. Usually it is because hairs are not being epilated properly.. You should NEVER feel hair being pulled or tweezed during treatments. I hear from many clients that they did feel a pluck each hair! That is the number one reason for hair regrowth. If hair has been treated properly hair will ALWAYS slide out of skin with no resistance at all.
